about the laboratory

The educational, scientific and Production Laboratory for aerodynamic and aeroacoustic tests of building structures was established in 2008 to conduct fundamental and applied scientific research in the field of aerodynamics of buildings and structures, including unique buildings, buildings with a high level of responsibility, as well as bridge structures.

Currently, the rationale for the safety and comfort of the designed buildings of modern architectural forms with original design solutions does not contain recommendations for the appointment of aerodynamic coefficients for complex buildings, including high-rise buildings.

And in structures such as large-span suspension and cable-stayed bridges, the influence of wind on strength is great. Their large length, unfavorable dynamic properties, as well as unfavorable aerodynamic cross-sectional shapes make them very sensitive to the action of wind, require changes in traditional approaches to the design and construction of bridges and the development of fundamental methods for taking into account wind impacts.
